Nerris Nevarez-Nassiri is a 1st gen writer, director, and musician with Latine and MENASA heritage. His debut screenplay, MO'ALLEM, was a finalist at the Austin Festival and secured a Stowe Story Labs scholarship. His second project, NO TE OLVIDES — a movie-musical he wrote the script, music, and lyrics to — placed in 2023 Nicholl Fellowship and won a bespoke Black List Musical Film Fellowship. His latest work, KEY CHANGE, received the coveted 8 on The Black List and is currently under co-development with Khrisp Entertainment and Frapart Muse. Beyond his writing success, Nerris was host and producer for the Aputure YouTube channel, which won the YouTube Creator Award for filmmaking education. His short films have been featured at numerous international festivals, while his branded work with major brands like Disney, The Mighty, and Cirque du Soleil has amassed over 750 million views. Nerris graduated magna cum laude from the UCLA School of Film and Television (despite almost getting expelled twice!). He is dedicated to producing coming-of-age story that spotlight women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ characters, aiming to elevate underrepresented groups in cinema.
